Cabin Fever

I haven't been here in a while.  I want to post more, but sometimes it seems like such a task.  Just now I couldn't remember my gmail password to access photos for here and I'm typing this post from the ipad because I couldn't remember my password for the laptop.  Is this mommy brain?  Eh.  So anyway, it's slowly warming up here.  We've been taking more walks and the days are getting longer. Thank goodness.  So today I want to share a couple things I've been enjoying lately.

About a week ago I found a Sephora gift card received for Christmas. I love Sephora, but the problem with the gift card is I spend about 5 times the amount of the gift card.  It's so easy there!  They have the most wonderful things and it smells good and you can try everything on.  I've been wanting an everyday lip stick that's a little pink and a little purple but not shimmery.  I don't like glitter in my lipstick usually.  I think that's for the younger girls.  The girls at Sephora are very helpful, I told her what I wanted and she took my right to the Tarte section and we tried 2 shades and this one was perfect.  It's their "Blushing Bride" shade in a lip pencil.  It's very pretty and very nice on.

I also made this all purpose cleaner.  I try to use gentle cleaner around the house rather than harsh chemicals, especially with the baby, and they tend to be much cheaper.  Baking soda and vinegar can be just as effective.  So I infused this plain white vinegar with dried lavender flowers.  I got the lavender at a spice house and it's been sitting in my cupboard for several years.  It's so easy to make this, I put about a half cup of flowers in a mason jar and filled the rest up with white vinegar.  I had read to let it sit in a sunny spot for 10 days but within 2 days the vinegar had turned a beautiful shade of deep purple and I decided it was done.  I mixed the vinegar with a little water and put it in a spray bottle and it's done!  I can spray this all over the kitchen, bathroom, and dining table and not worry about yucky chemicals.

I should have taken a picture of it after the 2 days, but this is after about 20 minutes.  How pretty is that?

I guess that's all I've got for today.  I will try to post more.
