Labor Day Weekend and 25 Week Update

I started this post over the weekend and never posted it.  So I'm nearly 26 weeks by this point but that's ok.  On with the show.

Someone asked me if I have big plans for Labor Day Weekend.  I had to think about it.  What is Labor Day?  Should I have plans?  Did they have plans?  Where am I?  There's a Primus song called "Spaghetti Western" and some of the lyrics go "Funny thing about weekends when you're unemployed, they don't quite mean so much, except you get to hang out with your working friends."  Those lyrics go through my mind most weekends.  Sunday we were heading to a birthday party and the invites said from 4 pm until midnight and I was concerned because it's a Sunday night, and yet again I realized it's a holiday weekend.  I'm not complaining, I'm just saying, it's kinda like summer when you're 8 and the days go on forever, you have no idea what day it is you just go out and play and run around until someone interrupts your daydreaming and fun by dragging you off to church and you realize it must be Sunday.  That's how things have been lately.  I have a feeling it's not changing anytime soon.

OK!  The 25 Week Update.

How far along?  25 weeks.

Size of Baby:  Napa Cabbage, 13.5 inches long and about one and a half pounds.

Gender:  Boy!

Weight Gain:  No idea.  Not torturing myself by getting on the scale.  I'm probably in for a rude awakening at my next appointment.

Maternity Clothes:  Oh yes.

Nursery:  Still haven't done anything with it.

Movement:  Yes.  I can feel him getting stronger and stronger.

Symptoms:  Heartburn.  Exhaustion.  Tums have been my best friend.

Cravings:  This week my sugar cravings have been pretty bad.  I could go for a Crunch Cone from Dairy Queen.

What I miss:  Sleeping on my stomach.  Someone doesn't like it.

Looking forward to:  Fall weather and pumpkin spice everything!

Silas says "If I fits, I sits."

  1. Good morning. I am excited the baby is already almost 14 inches long. And happy fall will soon be arriving. I agree about the days running along. I would miss sleeping on my stomach too. My favorite position is my side sleep.

  2. You word things so perfectly. The days of the week kind of blend together for me too. Every now and then we will go to a store and at nine am and they will be closed, in that case, it's Sunday lol

I nested like a beast. I had that nursery theme picked out and painted lol Do you have any ideas for themes yet? I could paint it for you if you want.

    1. You are so sweet! I want to nest and decorate, but we have so much to rearrange first. We didn't do a theme for Silas, so we probably won't do one for this one. Does Allie's room have a theme?

  3. Baby is getting big! There was this one book that I loved so much. It was at Barnes and Noble and had 365 days of images of baby growing. I found it absolutely fascinating. I think Lisa has one, maybe she can bring it to our next playdate.
